Charlie

Since the arrival of the two latest agoutis, Sidney and Stanley we had been waiting for another, older buck to be able to come our way. Finally he arrived.

Called Charlie, he is a 2002 bred buck, and by chance is the son to our beloved Harold.  He is almost identical!

Given a quick once over, he was put out onto the lawn in a pen -  a totally new experience for him.  Once we were happy about him being calm with all these new experiences, he was allowed out of the pen to run free on the lawn.  Then, Bluebell was introduced to him.  Like a re-run of 12 months ago with his father, the two greeted each other and spent time lying side by side and washing each other( as well as doing what bunnies do best ).  Such a transformation from  the bewildered bun we brought home only hours previously!

First steps of freedom...
Interesting...smells.

I wonder what it is.

Thinking about what to do next.
Like his father the son heads off to investigate around the safety of walls.

Where next?

Greeting each other like old friends. This first meeting is like a re-run of last year with Harold.
Happiness is...
Bluebell, happy again!
There's room for a little one...
And so they spent the afternoon together...
Posing for the camera
True Love again...

We felt we were being optimistic after owning him for 6 hours only that possibly we would have another Love Story on our hands.   But so it has turned out.  Charlie had a couple of days caged alone to ensure that he was fit and well adjusted, then he had a sleepover one night and has remained with his sweet-heart ever since.
